Hello, everyone. Two questions about travel within the Netherlands. Have looked everywhere, hope you can help :-) 1) Train - We have a Stena ferry line "Rail and Sail" package from UK (Harwich) to Netherlands (Hoek van Holland). Once in the Netherlands, does our train ticket allow on/off travel to Amsterdam? For example, can we travel from Hoek to Utrecht, get off for a few hours, and then go on to Amsterdam? Or must we go non-stop to our final destination? 2)Flower Auction - What is the fastest and most reliable way to go FROM the Aalsmeer Flower Auction TO the train station at Schiphol Airport? Thanks!
1) is your ticket to Amsterdam or "Any Dutch Station"? 2) taxi
(1) If you have a ticket that includes travel to other Dutch station, you must travel only in the direct route of your final destination, whatever that might be. Utrecht-Amsterdam is NOT on the direct route from Hoek van Holland to Amsterdam (Rotterdam, Delft and Leiden are, though). (2) You will need a bus going on N271 expressway. Don't know the number though.
Diane,
I've done the Rail and Sail package and the train ticket for the Netherlands portion of the journey states "any Dutch station". While to me that sort of suggests you can travel all day, I think I would go with Andre's advice, given that he's a resident and likely knows much more about the issue than I...
