We (two couples) are spending three nights in Brussels in August and are looking for a place to stay on AirBNB or HomeAway. Any recommendations on good areas/places to avoid?
Thanks!!
When my wife and I were in Brussels. We stayed here: http://www.cotecinquantenaire.be The host was fantastic, and he squeeze fresh orange juice and cook a great breakfast for us every morning. I believe they have a suite that would accommodate up to 4 people. The location is also very easy to get to via public transport from the train station and the airport. It's about a 20 minute walk to the center square though. But we both enjoy leisure walking so it was no problem for us. Plus the walk pass by supposedly the best fries in the city called Maison Antoine. Anyhow hope it helps.
I just got back from Brussels and stayed in the Ixelles area just off Avenue Louise. It looked a bit far from the Grand Place on the map but in reality the transit was very good from there - several buses went right from our apartment past the European parliament, the royal palace and on to a square very close to the Grand Place. Also had the option of several trams and we were 4 tram stops from the metro. Lots of neighbourhood restaurants as well.
