My husband and I are making a last minute trip in a couple of weeks to Haarlem. It's a pretty popular time for that area due to the flowers being in bloom and I'm having difficulty finding accomodations. Can anyone recommend a place to stay in or near the central city area? I would prefer to keep the rates around 100euros per night or less, and certainly no more than about 150 per night. Cleanliness and private baths are essential, but luxury is not. Charm is a plus. I have checked several places recommended by Rick Steves but there are no rooms available during our time frame. Thanks for your help.

I stayed in Hotel Amadeus last year but you may have already tried there. Check with booking.com. They will at least show you some places that are available during the times you need. I have booked through them and also through the hotel directly and have had good results.

We stayed at Hotel Amadeus also and liked it--especially the location right on the Market Square. It's about a 10 minute walk from the train station.

I've already tried Hotel Amadeus and they unfortunately had nothing open. Steve, I will check out the hotel you mentioned. Regarding your other links, I already have Rick Steves' books and I had already checked the TI, but I was hoping to get personal recommendations from the travelers on this Helpline.
