We are trying to use Priceline for a hotel room in Barcelona in May. So far we have had no luck. A room for no more than $200 per night would be ideal--less would be even better! It does not have to be fancy but clean with comfortable large bed (bathroom ensuite) and AC would be good. Central location is desired but the room needs to be quiet for sleeping. Can anyone recommend a hotel that they liked? This is our first trip to Barcelona and hotels appear to be pricey.

Have you tried Hotel El Jardi? Rick recommends it and many others have written about it on this website. I am staying there this June. Our room is $98 Euros with a private terrace & bathroom in the room. check out their website - http://www.hoteljardi-barcelona.com/english/home_english.html

The Catalonia Albinoni is one that the RS tour is using... close to the Ramblas and the main Plaza at the top end. (under 200)
