EDIT: DUH!!! I did read the part about your Pass, then PROMPTLY forgot all about it (smacking forehead)! Oh well, see the part about contacting Rail Europe... Jeffrey, you can't purchase tickets (or reservations) from DB because they only sell train tickets for the German portion of your trip. And you don't have one...BUT, they are still the best for looking at train/bus/boat routes! By "book a reservation", do you mean ONLY a reservation to go with a railpass, or do you want a reserved TICKET? For a ticket: http://www.tgv-europe.com/en/?DISTRIBUTED_COUNTRY=GB Click 'off' the "Direct Trains" on the "Book Your Train Ticket" box; otherwise, you'll only see night trains. (And notice your "Ticket Collection Country" says 'Great Britain'; if you say 'USA', you'll be kicked to the USA 'Rail Europe' site - and you don't want to purchase TICKETS from them - too expensive, and limited ion). For reservations ONLY, I think you're probably looking at going to Rail Europe for those. And if you need a night train, I'd definitely reserve in advance. You can also go to tranitalia.com to look at the routes, but for customers in the USA it's very difficult to get the website to accept USA credit cards...so I sent you to the tgv-europe.com site instead; plus, the discounts are typically better on the 'French' portions of trips frm them. http://www.trenitalia.com/cms/v/index.jsp?vgnextoid=ad1ce14114bc9110VgnVCM10000080a3e90aRCRD ALSO, if you try to book more than (typically) 3 months in advance you'll be prevented from doing so. You just have to wait...

It takes 12.0-13.0hrs for the train ride from Venice to Paris. With a Eurail pass, you will pay a 10E supplemental fee to ride the train. A budget flight from Venice-Marco Polo can have you in Paris in 2hrs for under 40E (plus a bag charge). If time is money, take the budget flight.

You can only book a train if less than 90 days before departure. I think that the right number. We will be using the Rail Plus website. We are going by train in Aug from Venice to Paris and I cant wait. Yes its a long way but you see a lot of the countryside especially if you are not going in that direction again. Enjoy your train trip.
