We'e traelling in September and are finding prices very high on hotels. Now trying for something more reasonable. Any help would be so appreciated. Thanks.

Gaye, how many of you are going and what are your dates? The Oktoberfest in Munich begins in September and room prices are higher, if you can even find a place.

Munich: Hotel Uhland - 10 minute walk from Hauptbahnhof
Vienna: Pension Suzanne - very near the opera house
