We are traveling to the Colmar area (Colmar as a base for the rest of the area most likely). As we will be arriving by train, how easy/difficult is it to rent a car and approximately how much per day? Thanks! Duane

The daily cost will depend on the duration - - sliding scale. There are rental outfits in Colmar, but it's a small place so rates will be higher and ion limited. If you're flying into Paris, it's a five hour drive with less than twenty bucks in tolls. Kayak.com will give you the prices.
