NEED A QUAINT HOTEL IN PARIS

Back again, spent wonderful 8 days in Paris last september, going again this coming september but spending most of our time in the Loire Valley, on the way home we are planning 2 nights in Paris just to revisit our favorite restaurants and walk that wonderful city again. Would love some suggestions for small reasonably (I would say $150 U.S. or less) priced hotels preferrably on the Ile St Louis or the Ile de la Cite. Don't want hotel Esmerelda...have seen it and the somewhat seedy park next door and decided it was a no for us. Have heard of the Hotel Henri IV, anyone been there or can suggest another? We will be taking the bullet train back from tours so we will not have a car. Thanks for any positive minded feedback in advance.

Normand, there is a very nice hotel at a great value a little further away, hotel de la porte doree. You can google their website. My father stayed there and liked it very much. We are headed there next month. Happy travels

We have stayed at the Hotel Le Littre in 2009 and 2010. It is located in the 6th arron The last time we stayed there, we requested a particular room. It had a balcony and we could see the full Eiffel Tower. We could watch the light show every night, during the six days we were thre. It stays light until 11:00 PM in May and June. We could also see the lights of Paris. You have to book that particular room directly with the hotel. It is very convenient to the Metro. It was air conditioned, which was necessary in June.

Here! I stayed at the Hotel du Loiret. It's just off the Rue du Rivoli near Hotel de Ville, in the Marais. I paid 70 euros for a single in October. Great area, Rue des Rosiers not far away, a good bakery around the corner. I don't know that I'd call it quaint, but it was cleaned very well every morning. The basement breakfast room looked a little dark but I went to the bakery. I'd stay there again. http://www.hotel-du-loiret.fr/

For Hotel du Loiret, you can't book online. You can email them or call. I had no problems emailing-they seemed to understand my poor French. The day clerk had more English than the night or weekend guys, so call during their day hours. They might remember me. I was the middle aged woman who came back one night with Nutella all over her chin. I didn't discover it until I was in the elevator.

Do decent hotels even exist on the Illes for that price?
