My daughter is traveling to Aix en Provence. She is flying into Paris, then taking the train to Aix. She is looking for an inexpensive, but safe, hotel near the Paris airport for one night. Any suggestions?
I don't know her price range, but there's an Ibis right next to the airpot, so it's a walk of a few hundred yards to get to/from CDG. I've stayed there. I find the Ibis chain to be predictable, clean, cost effective, and often convenient to public transport. You might check current prices on TripAdvisor.
We stayed at Hotel Campanile Roissy in Le Mesnil Amelot-which is close on the east side of CDG. It's served by hotel shuttle from the RER stop at CDG; very convenient, clean, and safe. We wouoldn't hesitate to use on next time thru CDG.
Ibis is part of the giant Accor group of hotels which has many hotels at or near Charles de Gaulle Airport, assuming that is where your daughter arrives. www.accorhotel.com. The buildings that are not actually in the airport property are connected by a free shuttle van. All Ibis hotels look the same and the quality is reliable.
If your daughter is on a trans-Atlantic flight, she will likely arrive in the morning and could immediately catch a TGV train at the airport for Aix. www.tgv-europe.com specifying any country except the US as your location.
Why isn't she flying into Marseilles? There's a flight into AMS or into CDG that connects to MRS, although I'd be sure to allow at least 2 hours between flights, especially CDG.
I would definitely recommend the Ibis at Terminal 3. It is just over a hundred feet from the RER station into Paris which is also the station for the free rail shuttle from Terninal 2. As said above, it is clean, very convenient and reasonably priced.
My husband & I just reserved a room at the Ibis Hotel at the CDG airport for our return trip in November. By paying for the room at least 30 days in advance we got a 30% discount. This may make the cost of the room reasonable for your daughter. Is this enough time to book at least 30 days in advance.?

Additionally, the Ibis terminal 3 has a budget friendly restaurant on site.
The suggestion about flying to Marseille is a good one. If done as an extension of a trans-Atlantic flight on Air France or similar carriers it will probably cost very little extra, maybe even cheaper than the cost of a hotel room. There is a shuttle bus from the Marseille airport to Aix.
If you have any Starwood points you can often stay at the Sheraton for some pts+$90.
