Narrowed it down to 2 Paris hotels? Which one should I choose?

My husband and I are planning our first trip to Paris this November, to celebrate our wedding anniversary. Would you recommend the Hotel Luxembourg Parc OR the Hotel d'Aubusson? Both seem to have great service and reviews. The Hotel d'Aubusson seems a little more upscale and they are offering some specials in the late Fall. However, I am worried it might be a little loud being on the busy street and having a jazz band downstairs. The Hotel Luxembourg Parc seems a little bit further away from Metro stops, etc, but seems to be in a more quiet neighborhood right across from the park. Which would you suggest? Thanks!

I don't know either hotel personally, and they both look equally upscale to me from their websites... I would choose the Luxembourg Parc based on location. The Luxembourg Gardens is one of my favorite places in Paris and being right across the street would decide it for me.

Well, I would choose the Aubbusson, it is not on a busy street, it is the very quiet end of a street only 1/2 block from the Seine... I have stayed further up that same street, closer to a noisey area, but even then that street is not that noisey and the Aubusson is definately NOT in a noisey area, and being near the river is great, you can walk to so much from there.
I am confused as to how you got it was on a busy street?? It really is not.

You may be correct. What I dud was I just looked up each hotel on google maps and did a street view. The D'Aubussin just looked like it was in a more congested area. However, I have never been to Paris before. Thanks for you advice. Both choices each have their advantages. So hard to choose!

I do not know either hotel personally but I would choose the Hotel d'Aubusson based on location, especially because it is your first trip to Paris. The street is not particularly busy and the location is much more convenient to the spots that most first time visitors wish to see like Notre Dame, Louvre, Musee d'Orsay, the Bateaux Vedettes Seine cruise, etc. all of which are not more than 20 minutes away from this hotel if you walk. This is also a great strolling street that takes you down to Rue du Buci and Rue de Seine. You are from Texas so your standards might be higher but there is a good Mexican restaurant on the street (at least good by Parisian standards for Mexican food) called Fajitas. Not that you won't find great places near the Hotel Luxembourg Parc like Eglise Saint Sulpice but Vaugirard is a busier street than Dauphine and the only major attraction that you will be near is Jardin du Luxembourg, which for me personally is no big deal even though my five-year old son loves it.

One very large consideration for us next time we are in Paris is now close to a Metro stop we stay. About halfway thru our stay is discovered how easy it was to use the Metro to get just about everywhere. Unfortunately by then our feet were very nearly worn out.
