my train travel plans from Salzburg to Munich and frankfurt

Hope somebody could help me check my train travel plans and see if it is the best and correct options. My wife and me will be travelling from Salzburg to Munich on a friday. I plan to get a Bayern ticket which would cover the costs for the 2 of us . I hope to check in to my hotel about lunch time and then use the same bayern ticket to get us to Dachau. Is this the best option? On Saturday, I plan to walk around marienplatz and the various of interests. On Sunday, I plan to get weekend ticket that will enable me to travel by train from Munich to Frankfurt airport using regional trains and perhaps stopping some where like Wurzburg or frankfurt as my flight from Frankfurt is late in the night. can this weekend pass be used for all buses, U and S bahns in frankfurt as well? Welcome all suggestions and thoughts, Thanks !

On Saturday, I would recommend doing some kind of walking tour of Munich to make the best use of the short amount of time you have there. For Sunday, taking the Regional trains will take you about 6 hours or so to get from Munich to Frankfurt. Have you checked the price for the ICE instead to cut down on your travel time? The Happy Weekend ticket is only good on the S-bahns in Frankfurt, not the trams, buses, or U-bahns. You can take the S-bahn from the Hauptbahnhof to the Hauptwache though and walk down to the Römer from there. Or for that matter you can walk from the main train station to the Römer in about 20 minutes or so.

I agree with Jo that you should not need to use more than the S-Bahn in Frankfurt. The S-Bahn go from the Hbf around the old town in a semicircle that corresponds to the original wall. Any thing inside that semicircle is a short walk from one of the S-Bahn stations. And, if you do want to use the U-Bahn or buses, you can purchase an RMV Preisstufe 3 Gruppentageskarte, which is an all day, on/off pass for all conveyance of the RMV in the inner zone (downtown Frankfurt), for €9,50. But keep the Schönes-Wochenende-Ticket. You'll need it for the trip to the airport.
