Hi everyone Does it make a difference whether I get the Museumkaart or purchase tickets for individual museums in advance, in regards to being able to skip lines for faster access to the museums? Thanks,
Brian
Plan your itinerary and see which museums you are actually going to visit and add up the cost. We spent 10 days in Amsterdam in April 2010 so we used it in all the usual places. Plus we went to Haalam. A friend took us to Den Haag and also the Open Air Folk Museum,, National Park and Kroller-Muller Museum. We saved money. As it was April there weren't lines anywhere. I was warned about the big lines for the Louvre too last summer to buy tickets. I don't remember getting to skip lines in Amsterdam like we did in Paris. Most of the time the long lines were the security checks. Whatever is most important to see go early in the morning. I went 6 times to the Anne Frank house to check out the lines. There were always long lines. Apparently one was to purchase tickets and the other was the used for entry. We followed RS advice and went at dinner time and walked right in. When we got out there was a line waiting to get in.
