Museum Passes in Paris

Hello Folks,
I was wondering what the "official" website to purchase museum passes for Paris is? Is it parismuseumpass.com? I wanted to check before I purchased! Also, has anyone gotten them shipped to the US and if so, how long did it take? THANKS!

Yep, that's the one. The pass is so easy to buy in Paris, it's not worth the money and hassle to get it in advance.

Thanks so much! Where do we purchase them in Paris?

Most museums will sell them. I was staying near the Rue Cler, so I purchased my at Invalides. Most likely will be a vendor not too far from where you're staying. Rick's book also lists locations.

It costs about $20 to receive them by mail 8-( Yes, parismuseumpass.com is 'the' site. There's a lot of info there, including where to buy the pass. I've gotten mine at the Louvre, Les Invalides, Rodin Museum, and never waited more than perhaps 5 minutes in line. You don't have to use the pass as soon as you buy it, so if you're passing by the Rodin Museum on your way to somewhere else, you can pop over to the ticket window and get your pass. You validate it on your first visit, and that may be a few days (or months) later. You can also pick them up at the airport, if you happen to see a selling point (the TI office, I think; check the PMP website). There's absolutely no need to purchase them online, either for pickup IN Paris, or for delivery to your home!

I bought mine last time at the TI kiosk at CDG airport. They also sell the RER tickets into Paris. I believe the TI kiosks in the city also sell them. There's one at the far end of the plaza in front of Notre Dame. Sometimes the smaller museums don't have them and there can be a long line at the biggest ones. Unless you have good eyesight, print out the list of museums and hours from the website. The insert with the pass is tiny for my old eyes.

As I recall we bought our pass at the TI office in the Gare du Nord. Pleasant young woman patiently helped us, no hassles, easy-peasey.

I am going to just buy mine at CDG like Chanti. This way I save on the shipping. I am also going to buy my train tickets there too. To my knowledge the official site is: http://en.parismuseumpass.com/ Good luck and enjoy your trip!

A tip I've used in the past is to buy them at a less popular museum that you're planning on visiting. The lines to buy tix at top attractions like the Louvre are going to be much longer than at Musee Cluny, for example, and then once you've got your pass you skip the ticket lines elsewhere.
