museum passes for Paris

Is it better to purchase our Museum Pass in Paris or should we purchase it on line?

It takes a couple weeks to get them mailed. I think you can get them at the airport also. If you wait and get them in Paris you may have to wait in line to purchase, which defeats the purpose.
If I had the time I would have them mailed. We waited to long so we are going to get them at the airport.

No need to buy them online -- you'll pay more.

Check out http://en.parismuseumpass.com/ Depending on where you are staying, there is undoubtedly a place to buy them close by. Or you can get at CDG.

Probably a good idea NOT to try and buy the pass at the Louvre or D'Orsay. Pick a smaller museum or site and there should be no wait.

We picked ours up first trip at Sainte Chappelle and second trip at the Arc de Triomphe. Took less than a minute each time.

Enjoy your trip.

Why pay extra, and quite a lot, when you can pick up a pass at any FNAC store, Gare du Nord, Gare de Lyon, Gare de l'Est and any of the smaller, less busy museums (e.g. Nissim Camondo).

"Probably a good idea NOT to try and buy the pass at the Louvre or D'Orsay." Disagree about the D'Orsay. There's a separate entrance for buying the pass (facing the main entrance, it's the small little office to the left) and there usually is no line.
