Museum Island Berlin, how much time?

Can you be a bit more specific what you'd like to see? Your question is a bit like asking how long it would take to see the Smithonian. Do you want to see ALL the museums? That would take several days. Just one or two? only the Pergamon and stroll around to see the rest from the outside? The Pergamon ist the must-see and takes at least 2 hours, even our kids took longer before they were done.

thank you for your reply, I had no clue the size of this! I am interested in art and I'll assume at least one of the museums has many pieces! So... the Art Museum is where I need to dedicate some time! tks, E

Hi Elvin. All of the museums on Museumsinsel are art museums. It just depends on which kind of art you're interested in (ancient art, 19th-century European art, etc.). Before your trip you should read about the museums and decide which one(s) you most want to see.

You could easily spend the entire day. As someone else said, review the guidebooks for each museum's collection and focus on the one that most interests you. Or set aside enough time for all of them!
