We are arriving in Paris on a Monday late september,to an apartment rental in the 6th arrondissement, around 1:00Pm so by the time we settle in & walk around, I doubt that we'd be going very far, hence probably not taking a bus anywhere. So, we have 4 days left, tuesday to friday, with a day trip to Versailles thursday. The two of us want to also see these sights which are covered by museum pass:Arc de Triomphe, Orangerie museum,Conciergerie & sewer tour-I've really chosen just the ones we most want to see.Of course we will also do the Eiffel tower and other main tourist attractins, my question is:should we just get a carnet of transportation tickets or a carte orange? Also should we bother getting the museum pass? we would probably get Le Passeport for Versailles as we also want to see gardens & Marie Antoinette's domain & this covers our train ticket. We plan on doing a lot of café sitting & people watching, oh yes we might do a night bike tour...sorry this sounds so disorganized,I'm writing as I'm thinking...
There is no substitute for doing your own math. You have the best idea of how many museums and how many metro trips you are likely to take.
However, if you find the numbers are close, you might err on the side of inclusivity and the the pass or passes in question.
A "bottomless" pass frees you up in many small ways. Particularly with the museum pass, which opens the way to many small and interesting museums that you might otherwise skip due to cost. But a pass means you can take an extra subway ride or duck into a museum spontaneously.
The museum pass also lets you jump the queues, a major advantage!
