Murten vs Neuchatel, Switzerland

I have reservations in both towns for 2 nights in July to see the area. Which is the best town to stay?

I stayed in Murten last fall and did Neuchatel as a day trip. Murten is lovely, if you stay in the old part of town. Neuchatel is a fair sized city with a nice old town.
