We are staying in Murren from June 29 thru July 1. A wed thru Saturday Which way from the valley floor should we take to get there. The most reasonable for 4 people and havign to park a car. Is the car park in Laterbrunnen full alot in the summer?

I've stayed in Lauterbruunen and although I'm sure there is parking there, including the train station, it didn't look all that large to me. BUT, there is a very large public lot at Stechelberg. Just drive through Lauterbrunnen and continue into the valley for another 4 miles or so. When you see the almost vertical cable way, you have found the parking lot. Next, that cable way goes to Gimmelwald. At Gimmelwald, you walk a few feet to the adjacent platform and take a second cable way to Murren. At Stechelberg, you can buy your ticket straight through to Murren. Make sure that you have the proper licenses and permits to drive in Switzerland.

Catherine, As you'll have a Car, the method suggested by Larry is the best one to use. I'm not sure if there's a charge to park in the lot in Stechelberg, but it's fairly large so you should have no trouble finding a spot. The first leg of the Cable Car is fairly steep, but provides some incredible views. The second leg from Gimmelwald to Murren is more "gentle" and passes over meadows (some with cows grazing). Depending on which Hotel you're staying at in Murren, you may have to walk to the far end of the village. It's not a big place so the walk will be easy and it's all fairly level. Happy travels!
