Does anyone know whether or not the Munich Welcome Cards are still being issued and used? A couple of websites indicate that the Welcome Card is no longer issued; however, several other sites indicate otherwise. The Munich Welcome Card is a discount card for local travel and museum entrance fees; to mention a few.
Thanks, but that's one of the websites that states, "Please note: the Munich Welcome Card is not on sale anymore!" As I said, there are some websites that indicate that they are still in use; while other state that that they are no longer for sale. I'm not quite sure which is correct.
Sometimes you can find old information online. The Munich Welcome Cards are no more.
However, Munich's transit district still sell day tickets for unlimited travel in the MVV. An Innenraum Tageskarte valid for unlimited travel in the inner zone, which includes literally everything you might want to see, except Dachau, costs €5,40 for a single person, €9,80 for up to five people ( Partnertageskarte). Two zones (Muenchen XXL) includes Dachau and costs €7,30/€10,80). An entire network ( Gesamtnetz ticket) costs €10,80/€19,60. That will take you to/from the airport, plus anywhere else in Munich.
Thank you, Lee. That's the information I was looking for. You have been very helpful and the information you provided will definitely come in handy.
I guess I'll just play it by ear and see what's available when I get to Munich. I appreciate all the input by everyone.
