Munich Walk Tours

I've been trying to decide if the Munich Walk city tour is worth the 2 or so hours it takes. Can anyone tell me what they saw on the tour? Did you enjoy it? I don't want to double up on a bunch of places if I'm already planning on seeing them. Thanks!

The previous post mentioned Munich Walk Tours. I also found a company called Radius Tours and Bike rental in Munich. Their 2 hour city tour is free and discounts are given on other tours if you do the free tour. Anyone have any thoughts on the two different tour companies. My husband and I want to do the Third Reich tour and the beer tour (it will actually be the Oktoberfest tour when we're there). I think the city tour would be worth the time as it might help you learn the city better.

For a walking tour that will be a bit more informative, especially with the history of Munich and that will do more than take you a couple of blocks around the city center, try Dark History Tours. The owner is Welsh and is a professional archeologist. He has gotten some very good reviews on here. I don't think the tours are very expensive either, about 15-20 euro for a 3-4 hour tour.

Jesse,

I've taken the Munich Walking tour offered by Radius Tours and found it to be quite informative, and well worth both the cost and the time. There's a LOT of history in that area, including famous Emperors and of course the origins of the Third Reich. I felt that taking the tour provided me with a much more rewarding experience than just wandering about on my own with a Guidebook.

Happy travels!

I leave for Munich in a couple of weeks and found that Frommer's has a great "self walking tour route" on their site that you can print for free. I plan to couple that with my RS Germany book and do the tour at my own pace.
