Munich-Vienna-Prague in 12 days

We are traveling by train between these cites...should we plan a day or 1/2 day in Salzberg and Cesky Krumlov? Recommend place to stay and see in Munich, Prague and Vienna? Thanks

Guesthouse Lida in Prague is a lovely place to stay - cheap and great hosts. In the other cities I stayed in a hostel and a Holiday Inn, so I'm probably not much help there.

I haven't been to Cesky Krumlov, but from reading about it I think it would be worth a stop. If you have the time a side trip to Kutna Hora from Prague is definitely worth it IMO.

Hi Bob,

There's no such thing as a half day visit anywhere. What do you do with your bag? Most train stations quit offering luggage lockers after 9/11.

Both Salzburg and Cesky Krumlov deserve a full day at least. Try to avoid one nighters though. You waste too much time arriving and finding your hotel before the real enjoyment begins and then just when you are settled in, you leave. If you don't have enough days and plan to visit only these places, I recommend booking 2 night trains: Munich to Prague and Prague to Vienna to save two nights. It's also a great way to travel.
