Munich & Salzburg-Moderate priced,good location accomodations?

Hi Dawn- My boyfriend and I stayed at the Hotel Royal in Munich. We stayed there during oktoberfest 05. It was approx. $100 USD per night and that included a breakfast. It was very centrally located across the street from the main train station. Only set back was 2 strip clubs on the same street. But it was really a safe area and we did not feel unsafe at anytime. We had a room in the back so it was quiet. It is in Rick's book and you can google it if you want to see it. Good luck..Munich is awsome..-Kim

Munich - Hotel Mark. It is about a five-seven minute walk from the main train station on Senefelderstrasse. No strip joints on this street - two youth hostels. Rate is about 85 Euros for a double, including breakfast with hot foods. Have stayed there last two years.

Salzburg - TOP Hotel Mozart is reasonable. Stayed there three nights in 2005. Easy walk to Mirabell and then on to the old town. Very nice staff and good breakfast. Post here if you need more information.

Kurpfalz Hotel Munich

I got a rate of EUR 62.00 on hoteldetective.net.

The Kurpfalz Hotel Munich is somewhat close to the train station and 15 minutes away from the inner circle/Altstadt. The hotel is surrounded by a variety of restaurants, Munich beer gardens, supermarkets and small shops. Plus breakfast is included.

I also vote for Kurpfalz. Super cheap. Breakfast included, bathrooms in room.
