My husband and I are going to Munich in a week or so, but probably won't have time for both Residenz and Nymphenburg. They are both rated highly, anyone been to both? which would you recommend if you could only see one?

Hey Chris! We visited both palaces during our trip back in May and I would say that both are worth your time. If you only have a chance to visit one of them though then I would recommend the Residenz. It has the the treasury of the Wittelsbachs - the former ruling family. It also has a tremendous amount of artwork. The interior of the Nymphenburg was not nearly as impressive to me as the Residenz. However, its gardens are beautiful and were the perfect place to while away a lovely Spring afternoon. I hope you have a great trip.
