Munich-Neuschwanstein-Innsbruck

We're planning on 3 nights in Munich and want to see Munich as well as Neuschwanstein and Innsbruck as day trips from Munich. From Munich we will stay a night in Salzburg and then go to Vienna. Am I doing a lot of backtracing from Munich for the day trips to Neuschwanstein and Innsbruck. Would I be better off shaving off one night in Munich and Staying near Neuschwanstein or Innsbruck and then going to Salzburg from there? thanks!

Although Innsbruck sits in one of the most gorgeous corners of the world, the city itself is... meh. Great base for skiing in the winter, but I personally wouldn't sacrifice time in Munich to visit it at any other time of year.

Hi Kevin,

First, how are you gettng around?

I agree with Tom in regards to Innsbruck. The area IS beautiful, but to go out of your way to visit Innsbruck... I wouldn't. I'd stay either near Neuschwanstein (we like Fuessen) or add an extra night in Salzburg.
