Munich hotels: Hotel Blauer Bock or Hotel Am Viktualienmarkt?

I will be in Munich in March/April and many people have recommended these hotels. Any preferences of one over the other?

I have visited only the Hotel Blauer Bock: great location, nice folks, good breakfast, elevator. There is a bit of street noise if you are on the street side when a local club closes. Should not be a problem in March/April as you can close the windows and still sleep. I would stay there again.

Like previous poster, I have only been to the Blauer Bock and recommend it highly. If you think you would be bothered by the wonderful street views, you can ask for a room in the back. But the front-facing corner rooms are quite spacious and comfortable. Location can't be beat.

I also highly recommend Hotel Blauer Bock. We stayed there May 2008 and found the location, rooms, and staff all great. We had a room with a window overlooking the restaurants and bar, and had no problem with noise. Actually, that was probably my favorite part of the room!

Would definitely stay there again.
