Any good recommendations for hotels in Munich city center???
What's your budget?
These are some hotels that others have stayed at and recommended. . www.hotelblauerbock.de . www.hotel-am-viktualienmarkt.de . www.hotel-royal.de . www.hotel-uhland.de . www.seibel-hotels-munich.de . www.hotel-muenchner-kindl.de . What I wouldn't give for line breaks
Carly, I always stay at Hotel Uhland, and would certainly recommend it. It's a reasonable walk from the rail station, and located in a quiet residential area. Happy travels!
If you want a great location then choose somewhere close to the Marienplatz or the Viktualienmarkt.
Can u recommend any near the marienplatz???
Hotel Blauer Bock, which Lee already mentioned, is at Viktualienmarkt, which is right next to Marienplatz. We have stayed there in the summer, no air conditioning. It has an excellent breakfast and a good staff. Rooms were nice have been undated since we stayed.... www.hotelblauerbock.de
Carly, we did not stay at hotel, but at a B and B called Pension Lindner, recommended in Rick's book. It was great, nice room, very good breakfast and a nice hostess! It is very close to the Marienplatz and the Viktualienmarkt.
We stayed at the Mercure Hotel Muenchen Altstadt this summer. It was a perfect location to be able to walk everywhere - a block to the Marienplatz; cafes and shops all around. The hotel was perfect for our needs ~ reasonable rates, very clean, modern, quiet, nicely air conditioned, parking ~ what you see on their website is what you get; no surprises. It is not a charming European hotel but rather a more cookie-cutter business hotel, which actually suited us just fine and was in a way a refreshing change after weeks of traveling. http://www.mercure.com/gb/hotel-3709-mercure-hotel-muenchen-altstadt/index.shtml
Hotel Platzl and Hotel Torbrau are poshy places near Marienplatz. Hotel Am Viktualienmarkt and Hotel Blauer Bock is near the Viktualienmarkt.
we stayed at the creat le elephant, a block from the train station... it was fabulous, I found it thro lonely planet, but I think Rick recommends it as well... we stayed three days when we arrived in Germany, and then after a month of traveling, returned for three more nights in Munich... we flew in and out of Munich..
We stayed at the Hotel am Viktualienmarkt on two seperate trips and loved it each time. It is in a great location just off the Viktualienmarkt, very comfortable and the breakfast is fantastic! Be aware that there is no elevator though. Last time we stayed we were on the top floor - with the most amazing room - but the climb up got to be annoying. Just dont forget anything when you leave your room for the day and you'll be fine:) www.hotel-am-viktualienmarkt.de
Hotel am Viktualienmarkt just finished a big update of the property. The lobby is totally different and big and open and modern. There is also a brand new elevator.
