I am single woman traveling by myself and need to find a hotel in Munich that is safe and accessible to and from airport by train.

Try Hotel Ludwig opposite the train station. Read my and other reviews on tripadvisor.com

We have stayed at the Mark Hotel two years in a row. It is on Senefelderstrasse, which is about a five minute walk from the tran station.
We found the area perfectly safe, day and night. They have a web site.

I just returned from Germany and spent three days in Munich at the Herzog-Wilhelm hotel. I found it very enjoyable with a nice (although small) room and the best breakfast I had on my entire 2 week Germany trip. It is a short walk from the main train station and an even shorter walk from the Ausgang Neuhauser station (one stop before the main train station). On their website Herzog-wilhelm.de are directions from the airport and what train to take and what stop to get off at. It was quite easy and I felt safe. I was there with my mom and aunt, and we all felt safe walking around in the evening as well. Good luck!
