Munich Hotel Recommendation

Hotel St Paul has a metro subway entrance right at the front door...can't beat the location.

That sounds like Hotel Laimer Hof which is about 300 meters from a tram stop. Or Hotel Uhland which is walking distance from the main Hauptbahnhof ( maybe 500 meters? We have stayed there and walked this but don't. Remember the actual distance).

Hotel Bristol is located a short walk from the RR station and the center. It is a nice place and has about the best breakfast I have ever had.

I've stayed at Hotel Uhland twice and there's a u-bahn stop about 3 blocks away and the main train station is about 6 blocks.

David, Another vote for Hotel Uhland. It's located in a nice quiet residential area of Munich (close to Theresenwiese) and yet still within reasonable walking distance to the Munich Hbf (about 12-15 minutes). If you'd like something a bit farther outside the city centre, you might have a look at the Leto Motel in Moosach (on the way to the airport). As stated on their website "Underground trains run every 10 minutes to the historic Marienplatz Square", so that should provide convenient access to the city. Happy travels!

Try looking at the Alter Wirt Gasthaus in Thalkirchen, It's about a one-two block walk to a metro station.
There is a lovely beer garden/outdoor restaurant (excellent food) attached, a super market nearby and the fantastic Munich zoo just steps away.

David, We've stayed at the Monoco a few times, close to the station and on the 6th floor of a building. Think we found it in one of Rick's guides. Also have stayed at the Senefelder, also close to the train station opposite the Youth Hostels. Both were great. J&D
