Munich, Germany

My son is in Munich because his traveling companion wanted to go there but a family emergency called the friend home and my son doesn't know what there is to do and see in Munich. Any advice or tips would be appreciated. He's there today and tomorrow.
Thanks

Most of the things to do around Munich are in or near Marienplatz. The Glockenspiel "performs" at 11 AM each day. Frauenkirche, the symbol of Munich, with its green cupola capped towers in in Marienplatz. You can eat in the Ratskeller of the Neues Rathaus (city hall). The Residenz, which was the in-town palace of the Wittelsbacher family a block of two behind the Rathaus. The Viktualienmarkt (open market) is nearby, as it the Hofbräuhaus. Across Marienplatz from the Rathaus is the church tower of St. Peters, which you can climb for a great view of Munich and, on a clear day, the Alps.

I would really suggest the Deutsches Museum, but, if he wants to see anything else, he doesn't have time for that (same for Dachau and Schloss Nymphenburg).

If the weather is nice the English Garden is a good choice.

If he likes art, there are three great museums in Munich.

The Nymphenburg palace is another option.
