We will arrive by train from Salzburg on Dec. and stay 3 nights. Will welcome suggestions for "good values" on lodging and tourist suggestions for three days in Munich the week after Christmas. Previous posts have recommended Hotel Blauer Bock and Hotel-Pension Theresia-Regina and I have inquired to each. Any more suggestions?
Several people on this board recommended Pension Lindner as being a good value and having a great breakfast and nice hosts. It is really centrally located, too. I checked it out on Tripadvisor and decided to stay there on my Munich visit next spring.
The Residenz is a must while in Munich. We enjoy the Hofbrauhaus as most tourists do! We also enjoy a trip to Dahlmeyer on every visit to Munich for eating, shopping, and especially dessert upstairs! This place is an experience in itself!!
Before deciding on a hotel compare prices with Hotel Imperial, 463 Landsberger Strasse, Munich Tel: 089 820 7980. It is out of the centre and therefore cheaper but there is a tram stop into the centre directly by the hotel(takes about 15 minutes and runs until early hours) It is clean and comfortable and without the noise associated with innercity hotels. This is an option if you don't want oppulance and want to save money for beer.
