Anyone know how to find out about Christmas eve church services in Munich or have any recommendations? Would like to attend a traditional Christmas eve service in the old city preferably but haven't been able to find anything regarding times/locations. Thanks!
For starters, does denomination matter? Unlike most of Germany, Munich is heavily Catholic, and I think every or almost every church in the old part of the city are Catholic. Do you want the service to be in English or is German OK? Did you want to do a midnight mass or something earlier? There's a ton of options.
I've heard there is an 11:30PM service at St. Michael's in Latin. We may go ahead and go to that one. Just wondering if there was something earlier, and if there were any in English by chance. :)
http://www.stjohnberchmans.de/ That link provides info for the english-language Catholic services in Munich around Christmas, unfortunately none of them seem to be in the old center, but there does seem to be one at a historic monastery, so that might be cool? I think a latin service could be really cool too, though!
