I will be traveling in early March. I will fly into Munich, stay two days and then take a train to Prague, where I plan on staying five days. If my time in Munich is only two days, do you have recommendations for must see sights? Will five days in Prague be too long?
Bill, a bit of further information would be helpful. My preference would be perhaps three days in Munich and four days in Prague. I assume you're flying "open jaw"?
In terms of "must see sights", what are you interested in? Munich is an interesting sight (Marienplatz, Beer Gardens, Museums, etc.), but you might also consider tours of King Ludwig's Castles (Neuschwantstein, Hohenschwangau) and / or Dachua if you're interested in WW-II history. A walking tour of Munich is a good way to get a quick overview of the history of a city. If any of these tours interest you, I'd recommend Radius Tours (they have an office in the Munich train station) - check their web site (book early though, as some tours book up early!).
Be sure to allow for travel time between Munich. Depending on which train you select, the travel time can be between 6-13 hours (my preference would be the train departing 08:44, arriving Prague 14:45 - 6H01M with no changes). Schedules can change so be sure to check!
