My friend and I are flying into Munich from separate places in the US. I'm coming in from Amsterdam and she's coming in from Chicago. Will we arrive at the same terminal? Same luggage area? Can anyone recommend a good meeting place?

The Munich airport has a designation "meeting point", located in the Zentralbereich/Munich Airport Center (MAC) between Terminals 1 and 2, near the Terminal 1 end. See map. It's symbol is a round point with arrows pointing in from four sides.
On the other hand, you might just try meeting at the luggage claim area for the second arriver, or, if you are headed into town on the S-Bahn, at the station.
