Jerri,

I stayed at Hotel Uhland on my last visit to Munich in May, and would certainly recommend them. I don't know of any apartments or B&B's? Have you checked the listings in Rick's "Austria" book?

Good luck!

*EDIT - BTW, Hotel Uhland has about the best breakfasts I've had anywhere in Europe!

Hi, I stayed at Hotel Uhland in June . It was very nice and quiet. We also stayed at the Hotel Muenchner Kindl and the Holiday Inn City Centre. All hotels were nice but if I went back I would choose Hotel Uhland.

Well this certainly looks like a great place. I have sent a request for availability, Any others recommendations for 'pension' in Munich in the same area as Hotel Uhland?

Thank you~~~

I know of a nice little traditional German hotel in the easten suburbs of Munich, about 25 min via S-Bahn from Marienplatz. A single or double room is a little less than Uhland's lowest prices and a whole lot less than Uhland's highest. It's a great cultural experience if you can speak enough German, but they told be they don't speak English and really don't want guests that only do.

Wenn Sie Deutsch sprechen können, schreiben Sie mir.

We also stayed at Uhland. We would stay there again. We loved it.

We stayed at the Mercure in central district last Fall. It's not B&B/Gasthof, but a nice recently renovated hotel that was quite reasonable, right of Marienplatz and close to U-bahn. 2 stops from main station.

Pension Seibel is not spetacular, but it sits only about 50 meters from the Viktulienmarkt, and was reasonably priced. Good breakfast too!

CVJM YMCA in Munich. Brand newish, great location, clean, good breakfast and great price. Free Internet. Very helpful English speakers. About 74 euros for a triple with bath and toilet down the hall. Clean bath and shower, by the way.
