Munich accomodations

My husband and I are in Italy and want to go to Munich in the next few days so this is a rather immediate need. Does anyone have suggestions for accomodations in Munich from 80-95E per night? We also are driving and would like to park free if possible.
Thanks,
Jan

You can check for hotels and make reservation right here. The Novotel, Golden Tulips and alike that are located outside of the downtwon ring usually come with free parking. All hotel features are described in English. E.g. the Messe area (fair grounds) might be a good location for you. There is free parking and very good access to public transportation. (The area once was the airport until the early 90s)

Try the Hotel Lidwig opposite the train station. No parking. Read reviews on tripadvisor.com under hotel reviews.

I've been checking around myself, and found the Achat Hotel near the aiport is darling, only 65 euros a night, parking etc and close to train station. Check it out and let me know what you think. If you want to stay down in old town, try the Scheckler, hope that is correct spelling.

Just got back from Munich last night. Had a GREAT experience at the Munchner Kindl. No free parking, though. I wouldn't keep a car in Munich if at all possible. We rented one to do the Romantic Road portion of our trip, but then returned it when we got to Munich.

Jan, we're staying at the Kurpfalz Hotel. Our rate is 88 Euro/night in August. They have breakfast included, bathroom is in our room. We stayed there in 2005 and found it inexpensive and perfect for our needs! Actually, parking isn't free, though. It's 8 Euro/night.
