I'm looking for a reasonably price, CLEAN, hotel not too far from the city center. Any suggestions? Thanks in advance.

www.hotel-uhland.de. A lot of people like it, but maybe not quite so "reasonable".

In addition to Lee's suggestions, there have been many posts here regarding Munich accommodations and you can retrieve these by going here and following the search instructionsTripadvisor.com is another site to check, more reviews than here.

Have a look at the Hotel Am Viktualienmarkt which is also about 100 feet from the Viktualienmarkt. There is also Hotel Blauer Bock near the Viktualienmarkt.

I stayed at the Hotel Deutsches Theater and found it comfortable and inexpensive. Breakfast was pretty good, and it was 5-10 min walk to the city center.
The only negative (if you can call it that) is if you are walking from the train station, you go thru one street that's "girl" themed. It wasn't like the red light in Amsterdam, but it can be considered negative. I didn't pay any attention to it.
I booked my hotel at hrs.de and was happy with the rate.
