munich 3-day inner district transportation pass

Does anybody know if the airport is in the inner district or would I need to purchase an 1-day xxl pass to cover the airport. Also does anybody know if there is a children's "City Tour Card" option. I went to the Munchen.de web site, but the info there is somewhat unclear to me. thanks!

The airport is in the outer most circle. So for that day you need the xxl pass which you can buy at the vending machines at the airport.
