I am in Paris now and just have the Paris book. Has anyone made the trip by train in a day? If so, I would appreciate if you could share your experience, as well as any tips you might pass along.
Thank you!

I haven't personally visited as a day trip, but it can be done. The nearest train station is several kilometers away at Pontorson, so you'll have to catch a bus to reach the island from there.
Mont St. Michel is usually choked with tourists during the day... but it may not be that bad in March. Even with the crowds, though, you can see everything in a few hours.
It is about 3.5 hours to travel one-way from Paris to Pontorson. Then from the station, you need to take a bus. The buses do not always leave immediately after the train, so allow at least another hour in total round-trip on the bus. That is eight hours just in transportation to get to/from Paris. In my opinion, do not do this as a day trip.
