Mozart hotel Amsterdam

Has anyone stayed in this hotel? We will only be in Amsterdam for one night before leaving on a Viking Rhine river cruise. I can cancel this reservation if anyone has had a better first hand experience somewhere else. I don't want to spend too much money and input is always appreciated!

Never stayed at the Mozart. But the location is good if you want to be in walking distance of the Rijks and Van Gough museums, and the Leidseplein entertainment district. To get to and from Centraal Station/sruise ship terminal, you'll have to use taxis or trams. I have had enjoyable stays at these budget hotels:

RHO Hotel Dam Square
Avenue Hotel
Ibis Hotel centraal station.

I would check TripAdvisor.com. If it doesn't get good ratings, I can recommend a hotel we really liked... The Toren Hotel.. but it's not budget.

Very small rooms comes with the territory in Amsterdam. For one night, how bad can it be? Looks to be in a good location, and most reviewer complaints were about room size (you pay by the square meter in this town).

I stayed at the RHO hotel July of 2012 and it was excellent. Great location, room etc.Even a fabulous Chinese restaurant down the street called Golden Chopsticks. And Rene Croissants for a capuccino and pastry is a must.

Have a blast1

If you are leaving from the Amsterdam Cruise Terminal, the Movenpick and the Hilton Doubletree are the closest hotels, for just one night. The Ibis at Centraal is also a good enough choice ( and there are 2 there, look closely; book online for the best price). Will you have more than one suitcase, and will you be taking taxis to and from hotel/ cruise terminal?
