Hi, We are moving to Munich for 3 months with our three kids while my husband does a temporary job coverage. We have 3 kids (9,6 and 3) anyone have any suggestions? any places that are a must see? or must aviod?
I have four areas which I think are a must Nikole.
Rothenburg ob der tauber - medieval walled city and reachable by train from Munich. There are also one day tours there.
Neuschwanstein, the fairytale castle used in Disney films in the Alps is stunning.
The Rhine Valley. Lots of great little villages along the Rhine.
The Moselle Valley. Superb. Cochem a great weekend stay and the Moselle is not the working river that the Rhine is and is really pretty. Trier, 2000 years old, oldest city in Germany, is worth a look just for the views along the Moselle Valley. Have fun! PottyaboutParis Sydney Australia
I ABSOLUTLY AGREE WITH MARGRET FROM OZ. THOSE ARE MY VERY FAVORITE PLACES AND IN THAT ORDER TOO. MUNICH IS A VERY KID FRIENDLY PLACE. TRY THE PARK RIGHT DOWN TOWN, LOTS OF FAMILY FRIENDLY ACTIVITIES, GAMES AND THE KIDS EVEN SURF THE RIVER. ITS VERY FUN TO WATCH! ALL THE MARKETS ARE WODERFUL, FUN, AND A GREAT SOCIAL GATHERING. OCT. FEST HAS KID DAYS AND DURING THE DAY ITS VERY FAMILY ORIENTED. FANTASTIC FUN, ESPECIALLY IF YOU LIKE FOOD AND RIDES!!
