Moulin Rouge

My friend and I are thinking of attending one of these shows while in Paris. The ticket price seems high. Is it worth it? Any and all info is appreciated. Thank you!

Lynn, it is not worth it.. it is terribly overpriced and you are packed in like sardines. It is absolutley a completely unauthentic experience now, just for tourists, I have relatives and friends who live in Paris or just outside and none of them have ever been to MR and assure me they would never bother. There are other show/nightclubs.. The Lido is still touristy but a step up from MR. BTW a few years ago I watched a documentry on the MR, you do know that now many of the dancers and performers aren't even french, with the open union you are simply watching dancing girls from the UK or Spain or whereever, its kind of sad but understandable.. the days of the old Moulin Rouge are long long gone and what is left is just a tourist trap. That said if you insist on going for the love of saving some money do NOT take the meal show, at least save that money and eat somewhere decent before hand then see show. The food is no better then your second cousins rec hall banquet wedding food at best, why pay that much for that !!! ??

Hi Lynn,
For sure it is worth while. Yes it is pricey and bad champagne, but a true experience not to be missed. You will be sitting shoulder to shoulder on all sides so be prepared. If you can, this is a must see in Paris.

Aw, Pat, let them have their fun. The Moulin Rouge is such a Parisian thing to do, why shouldn't they just go and have a giggle. As for "Les Girls", it was well known that at one time they were mostly young breasty English girls, so what does it matter anyway. Go, Lynn, go! Something to regale your friends with.

Lots of tall, breasty, blond Russian girls these days dancing at the MR. I saw the documentary too.

Was in Paris last month and a bunch of friends went to the show (not me, Opera Bastille, almost as racey). They went to the evening show, variety acts including ventriloquist, trained dog show and more (including bare breasted women, of course). They had a good time. Worth the money? Yes for them. De gustibus non est disputandum.
