Has anyone stayed at Motel 1 City Center in Nurnberg? It's rated #1 on tripadvisor but some of the pictures show the trains literally going right by the back of the hotel and the area seems sketchy. I'm having trouble making the reviews and the photos match up in my head. Does anyone have experience with this hotel?

Motel 1 is a brand new hotel less than a year old. I stayed at the NH Hotel next door and the area isn't sketchy at all. You are less than a five minute walk to the main train/U-bahn station, and the gate to the old-city.
I went to a Motel 1 recently here in Frankfurt just to check it out, since people are always asking about hotels. I had seen the photos online of course, but I was quite impressed with how it looked. Very calm and efficient and I like the color scheme. The rooms looked nice too and I even asked about handicapped accessible rooms. Yep, it was all there. I think I would stay in one. Don't worry about staying near the train stations here, the trains are electric and don't make noise. All train station areas in Europe look sketchy to many Americans. It just kind of looks that way, but no one will bother you.
I have reservations there for 4 nights at the end of this month. I will let you know how the noise is!
Thank you so much, everyone--I booked it!
