In your Germany guide you mention that the best part of the Mosel River to boat is the stretch between Bernkastel-Kues and Cochem but I couldn't find how to get to Bernkastel-Kues or how long the trip takes between these two points. I assume you could get to B-K by train, but it doesn't look like the train goes right to the town. What is the best way to approach this section of the river to do all of it or a good part of it? Thanks, Sharon
"In your Germany guide you mention that the best part of the Mosel River to boat is the stretch between Bernkastel-Kues and Cochem..." Hi, Sharon. This is Rick. (Just kidding. This is a board of travelers, and I'm just one of them who helps fill in the gaps in Rick's books.) B-K can be reached from Cochem by train + bus, but not by train alone. To cruise to B-K from Cochem requires an immense amount of time. It'll take 3 hours to reach Traben-Trarbach, and another 2 hours to reach Bernkastel after a lengthy break in T-T. By train and bus, it's 1:45 Kolb river cruises I prefer the area between Cochem and T-T, if you have to choose.
