I was looking at towns along the Mosel river and there seems to be tons of nice towns to visit. We be driving from from Luxembourg city to Trier, then Bernkastel-kues and hopefully other town before driving to Echternach and seeing "Little Switzerland" in one day. Does this seem like too much for one day, or are they other little towns you recommend to see along the Mosel? Thanks!
You could stop by tiny Beilstein and larger Cochem and of course do not miss Burg Eltz.
Trier is worth a day, or most of a day with it's Roman sites. I also recommend Cochem and Beilstein. Beilstein is cute and quaint, a good place for a quick lunch stop (either bringing your own picnic food or eating at one of the little restaurants in town) if you are in the area around the time. Enjoy-I love the Mosel area.
I just visited the Mosel a few days ago and wish I allotted more time, love it. You MUST go to Burg Eltz, I have done numerous castle tours on my trip and RS is definitely right that Burg Eltz is the best.
