More time in Sevilla or Madrid

My husband I are doing the Spain/ Morocco tour in May. At the end we are adding 4 extra days. The tour ends in Sevilla (after being there for two days). We want to spend more time in Madrid(we only spend 2 days there on the tour). I was wanting feedback on whether we should plan to stay another day in Sevilla or should we devote the 4 days to Madrid ( I am one of those who needs to book hotels before I go). Thanks.

Never having been on the tour, but just having looked at the schedule, Sevilla is a bit of an over-kill and Madrid is sadly neglected. In addition to giving precious little time to the city itself, no mention is made of Segovia or Avila (unless I missed something).

Go for Madrid.

I would agree with Ed. A couple days covers Seville pretty well. Madrid has a wider range of things to see and do especially museum wise. And it is good for a day trip or two outside the city. I would move on to Madrid.

If traveling by train - maybe stop in Toledo for a day?? I think the train now stops there and the new line into Madrid is completed. We were there in 2007 but we had a car and the rail line was not quite finished. Maybe this was on the tour I don't know but worth a day and then 3 in Madrid.

Gail-just posted to another fellow Atlantan (actually she said Smyrna) that we have just returned from a short (10 day) trip to Spain. I was in Madrid over 30 years ago and told my husband that I didn't remember liking it all that much, it was just another big city, etc. We had 3 nights each in both Sevilla and Madrid and as it turns out we liked Madrid SO much more than we thought we would! It was a very lively city, very fun, the museums were wonderful, as was the food. Sevilla was wonderful as well but I know that when we return to Spain, I will again put Madrid on the list.

Madrid wins. Get there from Seville on the fabulous AVE train. When there, have a day trip to Toledo or Segovia or both.

Madrid!! for many of the same reasons already noted. but I am also biased. I spent my junior year in college in Madrid so it holds a more special place for me.

Madrid it is! We are going to Toledo and Segovia during our ETBD tour so I think we will just spend our time relaxing in Madrid and enjoy being in a hotel for more than two nights. Thanks for feedback.
