anyone have any insights to help us decide if we should take trains from Montpelier to beaune or keep our rental car another day or so and drive to Beaune. it looks like it is around a 4 hour drive and we are not sure if the drive is scenic enough to bother driving and turning the car in at Beaune.
The Millau Gorge is kind of scenic. So is the minor bridge.
If you want to see the best of Burgundy, you should arrange to have wheels there. If you do not bring your car from Montpelier you can rent one in Beaune. There are bikes there too, if you like that sort of thing.
That said, I will bet you will not make that drive in 4 hours even with the wind at your back.
