MONTMARTRE

We are 4 seniors and we will be in Paris in the fall. We are currently looking at apartments and some are located in the 9th and 18th arrondissements. I understand that this area tends to be hilly. One of our seniors has a heart condition limiting any strenuous climbing. Does anyone have an experience in this area?

Thanks,

Maureen

Montmartre is a hilly area for walking around. I have a friend who went to Paris a few months ago, after recovering from a medical procedure that left him weak, and he found walking around there quite strenuous. Rents are cheaper in this area (which is nice) but if you can't do the hills, I recommend staying more in the center of town where it's flat, and you don't have to walk far to see great sights.

I was there in December 2006 and it was really hard on those hill. I am 53 in pretty good shape but the members of the tour that had bad knees or hearts coudl not do the walk up and down the hills.
