It sounds like you're on a cruise shop, arriving in Monaco (Monte Carlo). Rick Steves' Provence And The French Riveria, or his new book Mediterranean Cruises, have all the information you need to see these cities from Monaco (as well as what to do once you get there). You would take a bus from Monaco to Eze village, the town in the hills (there's also Eze-sur-mer, on the coast, and not of tourist interest). In Eze, my favorite thing was the gardens, at the very top of the town - amazing views well worth the admission price (the free views are not nearly as nice). Then, you can either take a bus down to Eze-sur-mer and then a bus or train to Menton, or a bus back to Monaco and then a bus or train to Menton. The books have the bus numbers, locations of the bus stops, and frequency of the buses. I do know that buses along the coast (Nice to Eze-sur-mer to Monaco to Menton) are 4 per hour, and trains along this route are 2 per hour. Buses between Monaco to Eze village, and between Eze village and Eze-sur-mer, are much less frequent - you'll need to check a schedule. Therefore, I'd see Eze first, as the ride back from Menton to Monaco is so frequent (much less risk of missing the ship).

Janine, Your last response was pretty garbled but I did see lemons. Yes, Menton does do lemons in a big way. Their big festival is in spring. Many others may have various other responses but I found Menton OK but nothing special. We didn't spend a lot of time there as I was taking my wife to see a garden in the hills above which was created by the same person who created the fabulous Hidcote Garden in the Cotswolds in England. I don't understand your reference to "Oats".

I love Eze, and Harold's advice is great. He's right about the Jardin Exotique. Menton is completely the other way - both philosophically and physically. I personally would devote the time to Eze (in the heat it can be quite a climb up, but if you take your time and enjoy the walk up it is wonderful) and Monaco. What are you looking to see in Menton?

Thanks to all for the advice. I was trying to respond on my ipad on the prior message. My fingers didn't work so well.
