I am trying to decide whether to book a standard room at Hotel Terrasses-Poulard for 125 Euros a night or a standard room at Auberge Saint Pierre at 108 Euros a night. Which hotel is more charming?
I don't know the other hotel, but Auberge Saint Pierre is pretty basic.
Unfortunately your question is difficult or impossible to answer in an accurate manner, because for those two accommodations the charm or interior decor of the room depends very much on which room you get. At least I have gotten the impression that for those two hotels there is no such thing as a "standard" room--the size, interior decor, and view depend on which room you get and vary significantly between rooms, depending (more or less) on how much you pay. And realistically you probably won't know which room you get until you're there. But the good news is that the Mont is so stunningly spectacular in its setting and ambience that most travelers don't seem to spend much time in their room!
