We are staying over one night at Mont Saint Michel, on the island itself. I have a choice between the Hotel du Guesclin (€99) and the AUBERGE SAINT PIERRE, which would put us in their secondary location Les Logis du Chapeau Blanc (€260). We're a group of 3 adults, with one elderly but reasonably mobile. It sounds like the Chapeau Blanc location has a lot of stairs to get to it. How bad is it? Also, others have mentioned it is near a graveyard. How close is that? (elderly person would get freaked out if it was right outside the door or window) The Hotel du Guesclin is cheaper and says it has a "bay view" but based on pictures is quite a bit more run down than the Chapeau Blanc. As long as it is clean, comfortable and pest free we can probably tolerate things. While it isn't a huge problem to pay for the higher cost, are the rooms really nicer as to be worth it? Looking for opinions or experiences with both of these locations? (less on the primary location of St. Pierre but the Chapeau Blanc in particular) Thanks in advance.
Collin can't help . but did you check on tripadvisor.com reviews,,just google hotel names and reviews.. Good think with ta reviews is you can private message review poster directly through site and ask specific quesitons they may not have addressed in their reviews.I have done this several times and I have always gotten responded too. Good luck.
PS would elderly person really be upset by a cementary? Could request a room with a different view if that is problem I suppose.
